Russian-themed park to open in Harbin

Heilongjiang’s largest Russian-themed tourism center is expected to open in June 2017, in Harbin.
Construction of the Meili (beautiful) Island Cultural and Tourism Center began in June last year.
As a key project in Harbin, Meili Island has attracted investment of 550 million yuan ($79.4 million).
Meanwhile, Meili Island is the biggest leisure complex that integrates ice and snow scenery, entertainment, catering and Russian performances.
Meili Island is located in Xinxiang district, in the east of Harbin, and boasts hot springs and water parks.
"The hot spring will cover an area of 80,000 square meters and the water parks will cover an area of 30,000 square meters,” said Guo Rui, vice-president of the operations department for the project.
To attract more visitors, the tourism center will give Russian-themed performances to enable tourists to enjoy Russian culture.
Currently, the tourism center is being decorated.
