Heilongjiang has issued a plan urging the offering of medical services in senior nursing homes.
By the end of 2017, more than 50 percent of senior nursing homes in Heilongjiang province will offer medical services, according to the plan.
The plan also promises that the civil affairs department will make inspections of the nursing homes to check their service quality on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, the plan urges the building of quality standards and supervision mechanisms.
Departments responsible for civil affairs both at city and county-level are being asked to publish the service standards for nursing homes on various platforms to encourage supervision.
Nursing homes which have more than 200 beds are encouraged to sign cooperation agreements with medical service institutions. Also, medical personnel, including doctors and nurses, will be recruited to the senior nursing homes to improve the quality of medical services.
Furthermore, senior nursing homes will be encouraged to build business management systems to enhance their management.
