The Heilongjiang Sinology Society was established in Heilongjiang University on March 19, the first of its kind in northeastern China.

Nearly 100 sinology experts and scholars participated in the founding ceremony held at Heilongjiang University, with Chai Wenhua, professor of Heilongjiang University, chosen as chief of the society

Sinology is the academic study of China primarily through Chinese language, literature, culture and history. The founding of the society will be beneficial for the promotion and development of traditional Chinese culture and education.

Heilongjiang University established northeastern China’s first sinology department in 2015. During the same year, Heilongjiang University also approved to take charge of the Marxist theory research and construction project.
