Most college graduates from Heilongjiang work in NE China

Around 70 percent of students who graduated from colleges in Heilongjiang province chose to work in northeastern Chinese provinces, according to a report published by the provincial education department.
In 2016, about 100,000 students who graduated from colleges in Heilongjiang province found employment in Northeast China, accounting for 70.55 percent of the total, according to the 2017 Employment Quality Report for Heilongjiang College Students.
Some 16,000 students chose to work in the Bohai Gulf area while another 8,787 graduates took jobs in the Yangtze River Delta area, accounting for 11.25 percent and 6.2 percent, respectively.
Of all the students who chose to work in Northeast China, most of them found employment in Harbin, Qiqihar and Daqing.
Meanwhile, postgraduates generally chose to work in colleges, and research and development institutions.
Students who studied bioscience and hydroacoustic engineering found it easiest to find employment. However, students who majored in chemistry generally struggled to find work.
