Harbin promotes agricultural production

The Xiangfang district government has made great efforts to structurally adjust and develop its agricultural industry for crop cultivation and sightseeing.
Harbin has recently invested 55 million yuan ($7.96 million) to grow 540,000 hazelnut trees in the Xiangfang district. The trees will be planted over a 4,500 mu (300 hectares) area at Dongfanghong Farm in Xiangyang town.
In addition to a hazelnut production base, the district also intends to construct a rose production base and wetland park.
A total amount of 1 billion yuan will be invested to build the rose production base, with 380 million yuan invested this year to construct a rose production R&D center, a rose products manufacturing house and a rose museum.
An investment of 70 million yuan will also be utilized to build a lavender park in the Xiangfang district which will be used for wedding ceremonies and music concerts.
The district government will also apportion 100 million yuan for the construction of vegetable production bases in its jurisdictive towns and villages.
