Harbin holds the first international lilac photography contest

The opening ceremony of the first international lilac photography contest was held in Harbin Volga Manor, Heilongjiang province on May 4. The event was simultaneously launched by the Harbin Volga Manor Photography Club and the lilac show.

The deadline for the photography content submissions is July 1. All submitted photos will be fairly judged by the selection committee composed of professionals. The winners of the contest will win prizes.
 
One of the contest’s requirements is that the submitted photo chromes should include lilac, peach blossom and jasminum nudiflourum. There is a submission limit of 5 total entries per person, and no more than 8 pictures in each sequence. There are no limitations on the forms and styles of the work.

All photos should be digital. If the photos are in JPG format it should be at least 2 megabytes in size and if it’s in TIFF format, it should be no less than 20 megabytes.

The file name’s extension should be: the photographer’s name plus the work’s name plus a telephone number (please indicate “lilac entries” on the mail).

The winner of the event will receive a prize worth 5,000 yuan ($726.5). Two second place winners will receive 2,000 yuan. While the third place winners, will each receive 1,000 yuan. Ten honorable mentions will receive 300 yuan each, while the other 100 excellent work awards will get an admission ticket for Volga Manor. All the other contest entries will receive certificates and qualifications for joining the Harbin Photographers Association.

The contest is sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Harbin Municipal Party Committee, co-organized by Harbin Daily Industrial Group and Harbin Photographers Association, while the entire event has been undertaken by Volga Manor.

None of the submissions will be rejected. The sponsor is authorized to publish, exhibit and demonstrate these entries, awarding no extra remuneration.

The contest will be completely free of charge and the organizing committee of the contest has the right for the final interpretation.
