Heilongjiang launches air pollution campaign

Heilongjiang Environmental Department has issued an action plan urging the special inspection of key industries that cause significant air pollution.
The northeastern Chinese province will carry out special inspections on outdated production equipment to help control and prevent air pollution, especially during winter.
From June 9, Heilongjiang will clean up and rectify industries including glass and cement, and inspect the sources of air pollution such as boilers starting Oct 1.
Individuals violating the law will be held accountable for their actions.
