Harbin holds conference for former foreign residents

The 2017 International Conference of Former Foreign Residents was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang province on June 26.
The conference was held to provide a communication platform for former foreign residents and their descendants.
Meanwhile, it is hoped it will help Harbin residents establish connections with people abroad, and promote international cooperation.
Song Xibin, mayor of Harbin, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
A total of 136 officials from foreign countries also attended the event, which focused on reviewing Harbin’s history, promoting its international image and the rejuvenation of Northeast China.
A picture exhibition was held after the conference to show the lives of former foreign residents of the city.
Activities taking place also included a seminar for experts, a signing ceremony for sister cities, and a series of cultural communication activities.
