Xiqin township transformed amid national civilized city bid

Xiqin township, which consists of eight villages and 18 small villages, is a model township in Harbin in terms of construction of civilized culture. A total of 17 million yuan ($2.5 million) has been invested to transform the township’s outlook for the future.
Infrastructure
The construction of roads over recent years has connected villages and greatly improved the level of infrastructure.
A sound mechanism for garbage removal and collection has been established, making the township a clean and pleasant place to live.
Beautiful environment
A total of 50.67 hectares of trees and 200,000 flower seedlings were planted this spring. As part of the continuous efforts towards national civilized city status, all village streets have been landscaped.
Beautiful squares in beautiful villages
Seven public squares have already been built and the construction of two more will start this year. Thirteen cultural walls, four cultural centers, one memorial, one red village, one modern agricultural statue and five cultural and leisure spots have also been completed.

Villages in Xiqin township have made relentless efforts to build facilities, infrastructure and cultural sites to improve life for residents and help Harbin win the national civilized city award.
