A Harbin paraglider won first prize at the 2017 China (Yalibu) Paragliding Competition, which was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang province on July 29.

The one-day event attracted over 100 professional paragliders from 24 provinces across China to compete at Yalibu.

Among the participants was a 69-year-old woman named Li Jiaxin from Jilin province –– the oldest among the female participants.

After fierce competition, He Wei from Harbin won first prize followed by Ma Xiang from Beijing, and Wei Liuzhi from Guxi autonomous region.

This year’s event was the second time that a similar paragliding competition has been held in Yalibu –– a town famous for its beautiful snowy scenery and winter sports in Harbin.

Yalibu has set a goal to become a paragliding base in Heilongjiang; and the town has plans to build a paragliding school, with the hope that this will lay the foundations for its paragliding industry.
