Harbin motorboat competition, the first stage of the Chinese leg of the 2017 U.I.M F1 Motorboat World Championship, was held in Harbin from Aug 12 to 13.
The top players qualified for the second stage of the competition, which is scheduled to be held in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Oct 1.
The U.I.M F1 Motorboat World Championship is the most influential water powerboat event in the world, representing the highest level in the sport.
The organization committee of the competition revealed that a total of nine teams from 20 countries and regions participated in the two-day event. The Harbin competition was broadcast through three geostationary satellites, covering over 120 countries and regions.
After fierce competition, a player from Sweden won first prize, followed by players from the Abu Dhabi and Victory teams.
It was the second time that the F1 Motorboat World Championship has been held in Harbin. Harbin was awarded the title of “annual excellent competition station” by Union Internationale Motonautique (U.I.M) in 2016, due to Harbin’s good competition environment, wide-water race track and excellent water quality.
The competition provides a great platform for players to compete, as well as boosting cultural communication between Harbin and other countries.
