China and Russia held a meeting in Heilongjiang province on Aug 11, reaching a consensus on deepening customs cooperation on the China-Russia border.
With a closer relation between two sides, China and Russia advance the Belt and Road Initiative and Eurasian Economic Union, to promote the development of Northeast China and the Siberia region and the Far East region of Russia.
To create an easier trade environment, China and Russia will cooperate on standardizing customs clearance orders, simplifying customs procedures and enhancing customs clearance efficiency.
“We will cooperate with Russia’s Far East Customs in rapidly developing customs clearance, cross-border e-commerce, cross-border transportation of internal trade goods, and assistance in clearance affairs, to advance connectivity between the two sides”, said Jin Yanyong, director of Harbin Customs.
Director of Russia’s Far East Customs said that the conference plays an important role in advancing cooperation between the customs of Russia’s Far East and Northeast China, and the finalized consensus will foster a better clearance environment for promoting regional economic growth.
