The 12th Heilongjiang International Culture Industry Expo opened at Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center on Aug 24, providing a platform for international buyers to seek cooperation opportunities and sign deals.

The expo, which is scheduled to run from Aug 24 to 28, involves three exhibition halls displaying over 100,000 cultural items. The exhibited items include paintings and calligraphy works, paper-cuttings, sculptures, high-end jewelry, publications and interior decorations.

With a theme of “enjoy culture and appreciate arts”, the expo aims to boost the development of the culture industry and promote Heilongjiang province’s cultural brands.

Compared with similar events held before, the number of exhibitors at this year’s expo hit a new record. Some 2,000 businesses from 30 provinces in China and 12 countries, as well as 100 national-level and provincial-level artists, came to Harbin to display their latest cultural and art works.

Additionally, the 2017 Harbin International Music Expo was held in the city at the same time. Covering an area of about 6,000 square meters, the music expo has 300 booths. Visitors were able to see an exhibition of record players, traditional Chinese musical instruments, western musical instruments, and take part in music training courses.
