First dredger put into service on Songhua River

A dredger docks at the bank of Songhua River in Harbin on Sept 10. The dredger, which measures 40-meters long and 26-meters wide, is the first dredger put into service on Songhua River. Built by Harbin Northern Shipbuilding Co, the dredger can lift up to 200 metric tons in weight. It will mainly be used to remove obstacles and keep waterways open for navigation in Heilongjiang province. The dredger is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of waterway maintenance.
