A total of 14 projects involving Taiwan-based businesses were agreed at Cross-Strait Agriculture and Food Science and Technology Industry Park in Shuangcheng district, Harbin on Sept 12, hitting a new record for the number of contracts signed in recent years in Heilongjiang province.
The projects are aimed at helping Heilongjiang province take advantage of its rich agricultural resources to create a complete industrial chain for organic food and promote Heilongjiang’s agricultural product brands.
The 14 projects, involving four strategic cooperation agreements, seven industry joint venture agreements, as well as three research and development agreements, will settle in Cross-Strait Agriculture and Food Science and Technology Industry Park in Shuangcheng district.
The first phase of the Cross-Strait Agriculture and Food Science and Technology Industry Park covers an area of 60,000 square meters in Shuangcheng district, with a total investment of 200 million yuan ($30.64 million). Currently, three Taiwan-based businesses have already set up operations there, and another four businesses have committed to joining them.
The investment from Taiwan-based businesses will play an important role in boosting cross-Straits high-end agriculture and organic food cooperation, said an official from the Cross-Strait Agriculture and Food Science and Technology Industry Park.
