A statue of He Yanchuan was unveiled in Acheng district, Harbin on Sept 27, marking the 105th birthday of the national hero from Harbin.
The sculpture stands at 4.5 meters high on a 10 meters’ wide base. It is seated at the junction of Yanchuan Street and Heifang Road in Acheng district.
He Yanchuan was born into a rural family in Acheng district in 1912. In the Anti-Japanese period, He Yanchuan organized volunteers to fight against Japanese aggressor troops in Northeast China. Under the leadership of He Yanchaun, the eastern area of Harbin was liberated in China’s Civil War.
