To strengthen fire prevention work in rural areas and effectively protect people's livelihoods, 21 special fire vehicles were put into service in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Oct 17.

The firefighting trucks have a compressed air foam system that can integrate water, foam and compressed air to battle fires and improve firefighting efficiency.

The aerial ladder truck is able to reach fire sites as high as 32 meters high within 90 seconds. It can also turn into a bridge with a maximal length of 30 meters.

To rescue trapped people in high-rise buildings, Harbin is equipped with firefighting trucks that have a puncture arm to clear barriers. The maximum working height of the puncture arm is 300 meters.

According to information from Harbin firefighting bureau, the 21 special fire vehicles will be distributed to fire control units in densely populated areas, as well as areas that have many high-rise buildings, to take full advantage of the new vehicles.
