Harbin rewards sanitation workers to mark festival

Harbin held an activity to reward sanitation workers who have made great efforts to creating a cleaner and more beautiful city, marking the 29th Sanitation Worker Festival that fell on Oct 26.
Some 900 representatives of sanitation workers attended the ceremony held at Youth Palace Theater on Oct 26.
Song Xibin, mayor of Harbin, expressed his gratitude for the contributions of Harbin’s sanitation workers, and expressed his hopes that they would contribute even more to the city.
A short film paying tribute to sanitation workers’ daily work was played, including footage of the workers clearing garbage, snow, and ice.
Sanitation workers who had performed particularly well received awards at a recognition ceremony; and a foundation targeted at sanitation workers in Harbin was also established to provide help for workers who have fallen on hard times.
