Harbin Transportation Group announced on Nov 9 that the river ferry linking Daoli Jiuzhan and Taiyang Island would stop operations the following day, in a bid to guarantee passenger safety.
The water level on Songhua River has continued to fall and is no longer suitable for the safe operation of ferries on the Daoli Jiuzhan-Taiyang Island route, according to a staff member from Harbin Transportation Group.
Currently, the ferry service from Qidao Street to Chuangchang will continue.
