Harbin Boiler Plant Co recently announced that a set of 660 MW coal-fired power generation units designed and manufactured by the company, were successfully connected to the power grid of Pakistan, laying a solid foundation for the full operation of the whole project.

The company is the biggest power generator equipment manufacturing and exporting firm in China.

The 660 MW power generator is installed at the Kasim Port Coal-fired Power Plant, which is located at Kasim Port Industry Park, 37 kilometers from Karachi city.

Harbin Boiler Plant Co has signed a deal to provide two sets of 660 MW coal-fired power generation units for Kasim Port Coal-fired Power Plant. The annual generating capacity of the power plant is expected to reach 9 billion kwh when the two generators commence operations, satisfying the power demands of 4 million households.

The Kasim Port Coal-fired Power Plant project is among the first batch of large energy cooperation projects between China and Pakistan. The environmental protection indicators of the project, such as dust removal and desulphurization, are far beyond the national standards of Pakistan.
