Registration opens for student snow sculpture competition

Harbin Sun Island scenic area will offer an opportunity for university students who would like to showcase their snow-sculpting skills, according to information from the organization committee of the Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo.
The fifth snow sculpture competition targeted at university students in China will be held from Jan 5 to 8 in 2018.
Sponsored by China Art Education Federation and the organization committee of the Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, the theme of this year’s competition is “grand ceremony of the snow sculpture art expo”.
The competition will be played in teams with four members, including three students and one teacher. They will carve blocks of snow measuring 3-meters long and 3-meters wide.
The winners of the first prize will qualify to participate in the 23rd China.Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Competition which will be held from Jan 10 to 13.
Students who are interested in the competition can submit their designs of snow sculptures to the organizers of the competition. Registration will be open until Dec 17.
Preliminary assessment of the designs will be conducted on Dec 20.
