A snow sculpture paying tribute to the 2022 Winter Olympics is expected to make its debut at the 30th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo on Dec 10.

The 300-meter-long snow sculpture will consist of three parts.

The main portion depicts a girl opening her arms, with an arm span of 40 meters. The head of the girl is the highest point of the whole sculpture at 35-m high. Tourists can climb to the top of the sculpture for a panoramic view of the snow sculpture art expo park.

If completed, the snow sculpture will be the tallest ever created at the expo.

This year’s snow sculpture also features a snow slide connecting the highest point to the ground. Tourists will have the chance to enjoy the full view of the expo park while sliding down from the top.

The work of carving the snow sculpture began on Dec 4 and it is anticipated that it will be completed on Dec 10.

The 30th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo will also commence trial operations on the same day, 10 days ahead of its official opening.
