Visitors walk on the frozen Songhua River in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province on Dec 17. As the temperature in Harbin dropped to -20 Celsius, Songhua River totally froze over, enabling people to walk and play on the ice. The ice attracted a lot of local residents and tourists, turning the area into a busy tourist attraction. However, the local government has since banned people from walking on the ice to ensure the safety of visitors to the area. [Photo/IC]
