A large 3D light show made its debut at Harbin Sun Island on Dec 31, attracting over 20,000 tourists from home and abroad.

The light show is divided into three chapters, each displaying the history and development of the snow sculpture art expo over a 30-year period, as well as the culture of Harbin, through the application of sound, light, and illusion to create fantastic visual and auditory effects in an ice and snow environment.

The show takes place at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm and 6:30 pm each day. The show is part of the annual China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo.

China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo starts in December and lasts until the end of Chinese Spring Festival, running for 60 to 70 days.

The expo is the origin of China's snow sculpture art. Every year, beautiful snow sculptures are displayed to the public. The expo includes a four-day sculpture competition, attracting famous sculptors from home and abroad to demonstrate their skills. It has become the main event for promoting ice and snow tourism.

In addition to ice and snow landscapes and light shows, tourists will be able to enjoy activities such as ice slides, cycling and skiing.

Starting on Dec 31, 2017, the expo’s opening hours will be 8:30 am to 7 pm. The booking office will close at 6:20 pm. Tourists who enter the expo after 5pm will enjoy a preferential price of 240 yuan ($36.89) per person.
