Renowned Hong Kong chef comes to Songbei Shangri-La

Good news! Guests to Harbin Songbei Shangri-La Hotel can enjoy delicious food made by renowned chef from Hongkong during the Festival of Chinese Flavors, from May 15 to May 19.

This is the first time the hotel in Northeast China’s Harbin city will be holding such a festival. Chen Guoxiong, a famous chef specializing in Cantonese cuisines will be invited to serve guests.

Chen, an executive chef from Guangzhou Shangri-La hotel, is good at selecting food ingredients. He pays great attention to the unique tastes as well as the nuances of China’s diverse culinary styles.

Chen grew up in Hong Kong, which blends both Chinese and Western culture. Therefore, he knows a lot of traditional Chinese cooking skills, and at the same time, he has also mastered western cooking methods.

Because of his unique cooking style, Chen has won the title of the “Master in the Catering Industry in Guangzhou”.

The Festival of Chinese Flavours will bring together 18 Chinese master chefs specialising in Cantonese, Sichuan and Huaiyang cuisines, Peking duck, dim sum, and Cantonese barbeque to showcase an incredible repertoire of talent, technique and quality ingredients at 18 Shangri-La hotels in China.

Other 17 Shangri-La hotels hosting the festival include Changchun, Chengdu, Dalian, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hohhot, Ningbo, Qinhuangdao, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Tangshan, Tianjin, Xiamen, Xian and Yangzhou.

Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin features guest rooms and suites ranging from 42 to 175 square metres, as well as uninterrupted views of the city and river through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The hotel is conveniently located at just a five-minute drive from Harbin’s internationally renowned ice festival at Ice and Snow World, and close to local attractions such as Sun Island Garden, Siberian Tiger Park and Harbin Great Theatre.

The international airport and Harbin West Railway Station are 40 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively. There are also 33 executive apartments offered to the guests.
