Volunteers escort Harbin students to take gaokao

Residents in the Nangang district of Harbin organized a volunteer team to escort students that were taking the National College Entrance Exam, or the gaokao from June 7 to 8, at Harbin 13rd Senior High School, this year.

The volunteer team was made up of 200 people from all walks of life, including parents of students, taxi drivers and neighbors.

Volunteers assisted policemen to preserve the order of surroundings of the school to create a quiet examination environment for students.

All the volunteers were identified by the red armband wore on their arms.

Harbin ramps up childcare services

A new comprehensive service center for childcare in Harbin is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
