Extra trains to serve Harbin during Dragon Boat Festival

China Railway Harbin Co will add 15 trains to its existing services from Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, to Beijing, Qinhuangdao, Huichun, Dandong, Qiqihar, Zhalantun and Mohe, to cope with the rise in passengers during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday weekend, from June 15 to 18.
The added trains including six high-speed railway trains and one train running between Harbin and Beijing.
The train stations in the Harbin area – Harbin Railway Station, Harbin North Railway Station, Harbin East Railway Station and Harbin West Railway Station –are anticipated to accommodate approximately 1.46 million passengers over the four-day period, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent.
The peak passenger flow is estimated to be between June 16 and 18, as people across the province make trips for the holiday weekend.
Additionally, to provide convenience for tourists heading to Mohe to avoid the heat of summer, a tourist train named “Longjiang Zhixing” will be opened..
