Heilongjiang airports see record passenger numbers

Airports affiliated to Heilongjiang Airport Group continue to handle record numbers of passengers. As of May 31, they handled 76,000 flights and 10.04 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 9.2 percent and 12.6 percent respectively.
Tourism has been one of the important factors driving the development of Heilongjiang’s airports.
In recent years, the province’s winter tourism and summer resort sightseeing have gained increasing popularity at home and abroad.
In 2017, Heilongjiang received 164 million tourists, generating tourism revenues of 190.9 billion yuan ($28.86 billion), a year-on-year increase of 13.35 percent and 19.07 percent; both higher than the national average.
The annual passenger throughout of Harbin Taiping International Airport reached 18.81 million, ranking first in the Northeast China region.
In recent years, Heilongjiang Airport Group has worked to push forward the transformation and upgrading of airport services by expanding markets, introducing new flights and airlines, adjusting flight schedules, as well as improving infrastructure at our airports, said Wang Yanzhong, general manager of the group.
Currently, 306 flights operate from the airports of Heilongjiang Airport Group, among which 32 are international flights.
Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang province, has flight connections to 96 domestic cities and 23 overseas cities via around 170 different flight services, covering all the capital cities of China’s provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, as well as cities in Russia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore.
Meanwhile, a total of 49 airlines have launched services from Heilongjiang’s airports, including China Southern Airlines, Air China, Scoot Airways and Ural Airlines.
