Harbin is currently working to improve how hay is used and treated in the city, bringing in new companies to make the industry more professional, according to an executive meeting of Harbin people’s government held on July 21.
The city is expected to improve the utilization rate of hay to more than 75 percent this year, with the rate expected to reach more than 95 percent in 2020. In addition, Harbin will strictly regulate the burning of hay to help reduce pollution in the city.
Harbin has been working hard to improve conservation tillage technology and has enjoyed positive results so far. Meanwhile, it also plans to focus on generating electricity through burning straw and working with leading companies to conduct biogas projects.
In addition, hay is also set to be applied to industrial materials and used as animal fodder to help ensure it does not get wasted.
