Illegal pontoon docks on the north bank of Songhua River in Harbin will be removed and dismantled, in an effort for Songbei district to create a better water area environment and reduce safety risks.
Information from Harbin river renovation work group reveals that there are a total of 22 pontoon docks on the north bank of the Harbin downtown section of Songhua River, however, 16 of the pontoons don’t have operation formalities.
Rectification notices have been issued to operators of the illegal pontoon docks, forcing them to remove or dismantle pontoon docks within a three-day period starting on July 31.
Pontoon docks will be dragged away by a mandate from the law enforcement department if operators refuse to cooperate.
Additionally, illegal buildings, sandpits and fishing boats along Songhua River banks will be shut down or dismantled.
Currently, 14 sandpits, 39 fishing boats and 18 illegal buildings have been cleared off.
