Chinese power generators connected in Ecuador

Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) announced on Oct 15 that two sets of 90MW hydropower generation units designed and manufactured by the company, were successfully connected to the power grid of Ecuador.
It’s the first hydropower plant project signed by HE in the South American region, which is of great importance for HE to develop the South American market.
The Minas hydropower plant project is about 90 kilometers away from Cuenca, the third largest city in Ecuador.
HE is responsible for the design, construction, installation and system debugging, as well as one and a half year service project.
On October 15, two out of the three power generation units were successfully connected to the power grid and started generating electricity. A trial operation lasting 72 hours was successfully conducted, proving reliability of the power generation units.
