Ice and snow festival kicks off in Harbin

As part of the festivities, the Harbin Ice and Snow World, a 600,000-square-meter park, officially opened for the 20th consecutive year. The park is each winter built with ice rather than commonly used construction materials.

The Harbin Ice and Snow World, a 600,000-square-meter park made of ice, officially opened in Harbin city, northeastern China’s Heilongjiang province, for the 20th consecutive year on Saturday as part of the 35th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. In the park, tourists can appreciate famous traditional Chinese and Gothic architecture, along with a 45-meter-high tower, all built from ice.

The ice and snow festival will run till the end of February.

Harbin ramps up childcare services

A new comprehensive service center for childcare in Harbin is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
