Couples say ‘I do’ in Ice City

Freezing-cold weather didn’t stop 47 couples from taking part in an outdoor group wedding in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Jan 6.
The couples were there as part of the 35th Harbin Venus International Ice and Snow Group Wedding, with the 47 hailing from 11 provinces, including Sichuan, Shaanxi, Guangxi, Fujian, Hebei and Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
As part of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, the group wedding event is the first ice and snow-themed wedding in China –– with the ceremony based around Harbin’s famous outdoor attractions.
So far, the city has held 35 group weddings for 1,170 couples.
