The job market in Harbin continues to remain stable, thanks to government efforts to build a healthy business environment.
As of December 2018, registered unemployment remained low at 3.76 percent, 0.54 percent below the government’s target.
Some 102,200 new jobs were created, helping 94,500 unemployed people find new work.
And to further increase the likelihood of local residents finding work, authorities organized 53 large-scale job fairs during 2018. More than 3,200 enterprises attended the events, offering around 60,000 positions.
In addition, the government offered 382 training courses to help 13,702 people improve their work skills, with many course attendees leaving positive feedback.
In addition, an online employment platform providing job registration and recruitment information services was launched. So far, a total of 18,000 businesses are authorized to advertise positions on the platform.
And the platform is proving popular, with more than 1.3 million visits to the site and 5,335 jobseekers registering their details.
