A photovoltaic power generation project in Harbin Comprehensive Bonded Area recently started operations after being connected to the national grid.
The project received investment from Concord New Energy Group Limited (CNE), a company specializing in wind and solar power.
The new photovoltaic project is designed to be able to generate up to 1 MW of electricity each year, with capability to generate up to 0.6 MW during its first phase of operations. Actual annual power generated is expected to be around 780,000 kWh.
Electricity produced by the new facility will mainly be used by the bonded area, with any excess being sold to the national grid at 0.7 yuan per kWh.
The ambitious new project is just one example of the city’s efforts to diversify its energy sources, reduce operating costs and utilize renewable sources of power.
