Asia’s largest agricultural expo center to start operating in 2020

The China (Harbin) International Agricultural Expo Center, the largest of its kind in Asia, will begin operating next year, according to its investor Huahong Holding Group.

The center is located at the intersection area of Changjiang Road and Nanzhi Road in Nangang district, Harbin. It covers an area of around 500,000 square meters and has received 10.86 billion yuan ($1.61 billion) in investment.

It will be equipped with world-class facilities such as its Central Agricultural Exhibition Hall, Modern Agricultural Development Building, Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Building, Agricultural Products Exchange, Agricultural Finance Center, Modern Agricultural Business Incubator Headquarters, and the permanent meeting site of the World Modern Agriculture Summit Forum.

The most notable part of the center is the Central Agricultural Exhibition Hall, which will have two floors and a floor space of 120,000 sq m. It will span 90 meters and consist of eight exhibition halls, with each hall covering an area of 10,000 sq m.

The center is expected to serve as a platform for agricultural production, circulation, and consumption, and provide a boost to agricultural big data processing, high-tech agricultural business incubation, and industrialization.

The center is currently in the fourth year of its five-year construction period. Around 500 construction workers are working on-site, even on holidays.
