The sixth Sino-Russia Expo – a major platform promoting economic and trade communications and cooperation between Beijing and Moscow -- will be staged in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province on June 15-19.

The 30th China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, the largest annual trade fair of its kind in Heilongjiang province, will be held at the same time.

This year’s expo has the theme “Sino-Russia regional cooperation: opportunity, potentiality and future” to highlight key Sino-Russian cooperation projects and achievements in modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, aerospace, minerals cooperation and cross-border e-commerce.

The expo will cover an area of 86,000 square meters, including three indoor exhibition halls and an outdoor exhibition area featuring a China-Russia cooperation pavilion, a pavilion for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and for international exhibitors, an electromechanical pavilion and a large machinery exhibition area.

Some 1,360 enterprises from 34 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the expo, including representative enterprises from the 18 oblasts of Russia.

Compared with previous expos, this year’s extravaganza boasts the biggest-ever show area for Russian exhibitors, and activities marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia will be held.

Secondly, this year the number of booths allocated to overseas exhibitors has reached 1,012, accounting for 39 percent of the total; and 15 countries along the Belt and Road jave confirmed participation. Meanwhile, countries including Canada and Tajikistan, are to participate for the first time.

Finally, a special exhibition area will be set up for China’s Ministry of Commerce, to showcase its achievements in alleviating rural poverty.
