The Harbin ice hockey team won the 2019 National Ice Hockey Championship, which concluded in Beijing on June 6.
At the finals for the men’s A-group competition at the national championships, the Harbin team defeated Jiamusi with a final score of 3-1. It has been three years since Harbin last took gold.
“The Harbin ice hockey team is a young team, with the average age of its players being just 22. Compared with our opponent, we have less skills and experience.” said Wu Guofeng, the team’s coach.
The team will practice harder to prepare for the approaching National Winter Games in 2020 and hopes to represent China at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
