An economic and trade investment cooperation forum between Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province and a South Korean business delegation was held in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang, on Sept 26, officials said
The forum attracted the participation of around 60 government officials and business representatives.
Heilongjiang government officials gave a briefing on the “Heilongjiang Free Trade Zone Development Plan” and “Heilongjiang Cross-border E-commerce Development Conditions and Planning” -- in a bid to explore effective ways to expand economic and trade exchanges between Heilongjiang and South Korea.
Meanwhile, South Korean delegates gave a keynote speech on topics such as China-South Korea import and export trade and logistics cooperation.
Kang Hanqing, director of the Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang Province, and Park Hanzhen, minister of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, signed a memorandum on strengthening economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two sides at the forum.
On the same day, the Harbin Trade Center -- affiliated with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency -- started operating in Harbin.
Officials said it is expected to boost business cooperation in the fields of agriculture, technology and tourism.
