Harbin promotes investment, tourism in Tokyo

Harbin, capital of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province, held an investment and tourism promotion meeting in Tokyo in Japan on Oct 11.
The event attracted the participation of more than 200 government officials and business representatives from Japan. A brief introduction about the investment environment of Harbin and its tourism was delivered.
Sun Ze, mayor of Harbin, told the meeting that the economic and trade exchanges between Harbin and Japan are increasing.
The two sides have strong complementary characteristics in terms of resource conditions, economic structure and development level, he added.
Sun expressed his hope that the two sides could combine Japan's advanced technology and concepts with Harbin's excellent natural resources and industrial base to strengthen cooperation in the fields of green agriculture, high-end equipment manufacturing and cultural tourism.
Sun also announced the establishment of the Commercial Chamber of Harbin in Japan on the same day.
Harbin regained the honorary title of "National Civilized City" on Aug 21.
Harbin Economic and Development Zone recently issued measures for the innovative development of the industrial chain.
The Harbin area of China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone recently moved to streamline its small business licensing regulations to help stimulate the zone’s economy.
Heilongjiang province will leverage all its formidable array of natural advantages to develop its popular winter tourism.
