Harbin airport switches to winter schedule

HarbinTaiping International Airport will switch to its winter flight schedule -- which will start on Oct 27 and last until end- March -- to meet the travel demands of passengers, airport officials said.

According to the new winter flight schedule, 53 airlines will operate at Harbin airport, including 37 domestic airlines and 16 overseas airlines.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 1,560 flights every week linking Harbin to 113 destinations at home and aboard via 201 flight routes – an additional 14  destinations compared with the same period last year.

The new destinations include domestic Shiyan, Beijing Daxing, Ulanhot, Urumqi, Xishuangbanna, Xinzhou, Manzhouli, Zhangjiakou, Zunyi, Handan and Yuyang -- as well as Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Jakarta in Indonesia and Da Nang in Vietnam.

It will be the first time Harbin airport operates flights linking Harbin to Shiyan, Beijing Daxing, Yueyang, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

Airport officials said the number of daily flights from Harbin to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Chengdu, Sanya and Haikou is now respectively  19, 23, 19, 11, nine, eight, 16 and 13 flights.
