A train carrying 3,000 metric tons of rice arrived in Xiaogan in Central China’s Hubei province on the morning of Feb 17, following a journey of around 30 hours from Jiamusi in China’s northernmost province of Heilongjiang, according to local officials.

The rice was donated by the government of Heilongjiang province to help Xiaogan’s rice supply.

Xiaogan -- as a severe virus-hit city in Hubei province -- is a counterpart support city of Heilongjiang province.

The rice will be distributed to the designated hospitals for 2019-nCoV treatment in Xiaogan and to the isolation observation points for those suspected of carrying coronavirus and close contacts of confirmed cases.
