A total of 11 patients infected with the novel coronavirus in Harbin in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province were released from the Harbin Infectious Disease Hospital on March 1, according to information released by the Harbin Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention and Control Command Department.

Officials said the youngest patient infected with the pneumonia was 20 years old and the oldest was 62 years old and they were all common cases of coronavirus.

The oldest, a Ms. Zhang, 62, had a history of contact with confirmed cases. Zhang suffered from cough, fatigue and chest tightness on Feb 7 and was sent for treatment at a local hospital on Feb 10. Her nucleic acid test showed positive and the pulmonary CAT scan showed pneumonia.

Zhang was diagnosed as a coronavirus pneumonia case and transferred to the isolation ward of the city infectious disease hospital on the same day.

Experts advised that residents should take protective measures when going out and keep their distance from people, to at least 1 meter.

After positive treatment, the patients’ symptoms disappeared and their coronavirus nucleic acid test showed negative for a consecutive three times, meeting the criteria for discharge from medical isolation.

Over the following two weeks, they will stay at designated isolated observation units for further observation.
