China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province announced on May 19 that students studying at the region’s universities can go back to campus in batches from June 1, according to information from the Heilongjiang Education Department.
 
Students graduating this summer and postgraduates conducting important scientific research are approved to return on June 1-7, officials said.
 
They said the precise times for returning to school for non-graduation grades will be determined by the universities themselves.
 
The education department is requiring that all colleges and universities refine specific measures for virus prevention and control and establish a novel coronavirus prevention system.
 
It also requires all universities to report their virus prevention and control work plans one week before students go back to campus. The plans will receive evaluation and assessment from the local virus prevention and control department.
