Si Zefu from Harbin -- capital city of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province -- will submit a proposal to the third session of the 13th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

It will be about further promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in serving the construction of China’s infrastructure, Si said in a special interview with the Harbin Daily in Beijing on May 21.

Si is a member of the CPPCC National Standing Committee and is also chairman of China’s leading power equipment producer Harbin Electric Corporation.

He said that constructing infrastructure was a strategic need to serve the long-term development of the country. The transformation and upgrading of the traditional manufacturing industry towards smart manufacturing was a national strategic requirement, he added.

"All Chinese industry will flourish under a new round of economic stimulus. I am fully confident about the future development of the power equipment industry under new infrastructure construction conditions,” Si said.

He added that the integration of a new generation of information technology and advanced manufacturing technology, 5G and the industrial internet will provide diversified and high-quality guarantees for intelligent manufacturing.

Against this background, the intelligent upgrade of the power equipment manufacturing industry will be more comprehensive and in-depth, becoming a powerful driving force and strong support for the high-quality development of China's power generation equipment industry, Si said.
