With the normalization of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Harbin commerce bureau launched an e-commerce shopping festival on May 29, according to officials from the port city and capital of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province which borders Russia.
The festival aims to boost local spending and accelerate the development of the city’s internet economy.
During the festival, a series of activities – including a promotion of local Harbin products and livestreaming product recommendations from the directors of Harbin’s counties – will be held.
In another move by the city’s commerce authority to boost spending, the bureau will also initiate a three-month shopping promotion starting on June 18.
