The 31th China-Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair -- a prominent platform for promoting economic and trade communications and cooperation throughout Northeast Asia -- opened in Harbin, capital of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province on June 15, according to local officials.

This year’s trade fair was staged for the first time in the form of an online exhibition -- attracting the participation of companies from 19 countries and regions, including Russia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Chile and Australia.

The displayed were 3,359 products in more than 10 fields. These included food, engineering machinery, woodworking machinery, biomass energy technology equipment, food processing machinery, medical supplies, outdoor equipment, building materials, chemicals and mining chemicals, hardware, household and daily necessities.

This year’s fair is highlighting Sino-Russian cooperation and communications activities. A total of 61 companies from Russia’s 18 states are displaying such products as power equipment, food and technological innovation products at the online event.

They are also seeking Chinese investors for six investment projects through the fair.

In addition to product exhibitions, online pages for key Heilongjiang investment promotion projects, information releases on supply and demand information, high-quality exhibitor displays and imported commodity displays have been set up, providing information and helping promote the images and brands of companies.
