A total of 144 enterprises in Harbin, the capital city of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province, have reached the standards of industrial enterprises above designated size, according to information from Heilongjiang’s industry and information department.

The term ‘industrial enterprises above designated size’ in China refers to industrial enterprises with a primary business income of more than 20 million yuan ($2.90 million) annually.

Due to their considerable output value, these enterprises have a significant impact on the local economy. They are also the primary force to promote the development of the national economy, form the main body of the market economy and promote social stability.

All of the enterprises above designated size added in Harbin this year will receive provincial-level department funding awards after comprehensive assessments by Heilongjiang Technology and Information Bureau, Heilongjiang Statistics Bureau and Heilongjiang Finance Department.
