Harbin voted China’s most popular winter tourism destination

It was followed by Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, Shenyang in Liaoning province, Jilin city and Changchun in Jilin province, Urumqi in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Altay in Xinjiang, and Mudanjiang and Heihe in Heilongjiang province.
Meanwhile, county-level Shangzhi city in Harbin made the list of China’s Top 10 Ice and Snow Tourism Counties and Districts.
The Harbin Traditional Ice Collecting Festival and Harbin International Ice Lantern Party were selected among the top 10 classic ice and snow activities. Meanwhile, the Polar Bear Hotel in Harbin was chosen as one of the top 10 ice and snow accommodations.
Harbin won the top honor due to its rich ice and snow resources.
The northern city is home to the national-level Yabuli Ski Resort and the world’s largest ice and snow entertainment park – Harbin Ice and Snow World. It also hosts the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, one of the world's four largest ice and snow festivals, along with the Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan, the Quebec Winter Carnival in Canada and Norway's Ski Festival.
Harbin also boasts the spectacular Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo and the Harbin International Ice Lantern Party.
