Harbin suspends scenic areas for virus prevention, control

A press conference held by the Harbin municipal government on Sept 28 revealed that the city of Harbin reported 11 new locally transmitted confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sept 27, among which eight are from the city’s Bayan county and three are from Songbei district.
Among the suspended scenic spots are Volga Manor, Harbin Polarland, Harbin Sunac Resort, Maoer Mountain scenic area, Jinlong Mountain National Forest Park, Northern Forest Zoo, Yabuli Hufengling scenic area, Poseidon Kingdom, and the Binjiang Wetlands.
Volga Manor will be closed until Sept 30, while Harbin Sunac Resort and Harbin Polarland were closed on Sept 25 and it has not yet been determined when they will reopen.
Poseidon Kingdom will be temporarily closed as well, and its reopening time will be announced on its official website and WeChat account.
Meanwhile, the Harbin tourism and culture bureau has required all scenic spots still in operation to limit their number of tourists to no more than 50 percent of their maximum capacity. All performances at scenic spots must be suspended as well.
